ASAP 1
On ASAP 1 we are starting the prototype re-publica.tv. Throughout the day, we present you many formats and topics until we say goodbye to the first digital edition of re:publica with a festive farewell and transition to the evening programme. We will deal with issues that affect and concern us all: How does a society deal with disruptive change? What can we learn from the past?
We will, for example, take a look back and talk to Vint Cerf—the Godfather of the Internet himself—about how and if the Internet is built for crises. A session presented by our longtime partner Google. On ASAP 1 we will explore how we can set the course now to change tomorrow’s society for the better, despite current man-made developments such as Covid-19 and climate change. We will examine how our globalized, networked world can manage the balancing act of social distancing, empathy and sustainable, climate-friendly commitment. To this end, we are also addressing the topics of unconditional basic income, e-learning, open data and solidarity—ideas that are already familiar and have become even more relevant. We want to discuss them here with Maja Göpel and Friederike Otto, Renate Künast, Marcel Fratzscher, Jöran Muuß-Merholz and Jutta Allmendinger, among others.
"Now is the time. The way out of the climate crisis as an opportunity for eco-digital transformation?" Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze talks to Prof. Dr. Dirk Messner, President of the Federal Environment Agency, and the spokeswoman of the Chaos Computer Club, Constanze Kurz.
Mayor and Senator for Culture and Europe Klaus Lederer offers a look behind the scenes of the cultural administration and provides an update on Berlin's cultural policy: How were funding instruments developed? Is there an internal innovation push? What does solidarity-based cultural policy mean in post-Corona Berlin?
With his talk "The Virus and the Net" Bernhard Pörksen draws the big picture for us. In addition, Richard Sennett is our guest in an interview on the topic of the Corona crisis, climate and cities from a sociological perspective. The makers and science journalists of the NDR Corona Podcast Korinna Henning and Katharina Mahrenholtz reflect these past weeks. Furthermore, Ruprecht Polenz speaks about his role as a politician AD on Twitter, Rezo talks to Markus Beckedahl about his "destruction video" a year ago, and Simone Rafael from the Antonio Amadeu Foundation does not remain silent about the threatening right-wing radicalism.
Channel ASAP 1 is moderated by channel host Geraldine de Bastion.
